Yule...
Today, 21st. December, is the Winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, after which it begins to lengthen again. It is also the onset of the pre-Christian winter celebration of Yule. Let us freely enjoy this time of renewal and hope in the expectation of better times ahead.

Tomorrow never has to be any better and in fact can be far far worse. We just say those things to make ourselves feel better.

Shortest day of the year? Last time I checked days are still the same length -- 24 hours.

Re: Yule...
"longest night" and "longest day" those are the solstices. Equinox are equal day and night.
